Today in Cell Phone News, the NFL and Verizon Wireless have announced that they have set up a four year deal which will bring NFL Mobile Programming and the NFL RedZone Channel to Verizon Wireless phones. What we know so far is that specifics, such as the phone and pricing information, will be announced in August, but this new service will be ready for Verizon wireless on time for the NFL Draft Coverage on April 22-24. Service subscribers will be able to watch Sunday and Thursday night games live, and will have access to to live radio broadcasts of every regular season and playoff game from home and away teams. Although Verizon is the one who announced this, they do not mention any exclusivity, and the NFL Mobile website still only mentions The NFL Mobile App on Sprint. Verizon used the announcement to also mention their upcoming 4G network. With today's announcement, Verizon Wireless also becomes the official wireless sponsor of the NFL. [Verizon Wireless]
