Skype is back in the cell phone news, but this time its rather good news than last week when they announced they were pulling the Skype app for Windows Mobile users because they believed the content was not as good as the ones for Android and the iPhone. This latest report of Skype has them releasing a version for Symbian, the operating system run on all Nokia devices. You can find this new version in the Ovi Store ready for download. What this application actually does is allows Nokia smartphone users for free to place calls over WiFi and GPRS/EDGE/3G connections. Skype allows the user to send Skype messages, share pictures and voice messages, and keep in connect with your Skype buddies. This application is a great way to keep your minutes low, and gives you another avenue to place messages of different sorts. I personally have never used Skype, but I have heard great things about the quality of the application and of the calls. Please don't hold back Skype users, tell us how this app works with you Nokia, and if you like it over other apps of its kind. There are some requirements for the Skype application. Nokia users must be running the version of Symbian^1or newer. Other than that just access your Ovi Store and search for the application and use away. These types of applications are great for your cell phone use and could even help your wallet by saving you some green. [Via MobileBurn]
