RIM has Q3 Earnings Higher Than Expected
By Tommy Rebik

RIM boasts Q3 09’ revenue of 3.92 billion dollars, that’s an increase of 11% from the second quarter of 2009. What is even more surprising is the cell phone news article I read is that RIM went up from the same quarter last year. The Q3 08’ 2.78 billion, that is a 41% increase. Another milestone for the quarter was RIM sold its 75 millionth Blackberry handset. Net income sits at 628.4 million dollars for the quarter as well. RIM had this to say about the recent earnings and expansion. 'We are pleased to report record shipments of more than 10 million BlackBerry smartphones during the third quarter with higher than expected revenue, earnings and subscriber growth. RIM is experiencing a great start to the holiday buying season and the strong Q3 results and Q4 outlook clearly reflect the strength of our diversified product portfolio as well as the success of our efforts to expand into broader customer segments and new geographies while maintaining our strong position in North America.' The for mention quote came from Jim Balsillie, Co-CEO at Research In Motion. here
