LG DLite Review

Everywhere you look there are handsets that are just plan flat. They are all high class expensive touch screen devices that are so fragile you have to carry it around in big bulky cases. And when finally we see some flip phones come backthey are ugly, rather fat and completely disappointing. It’s no wonder they stop becoming so popular! They are lacking too much. It can drive a person insane yeah know. Well it seems that LG agrees with us entirely and have decided to answer our prayers. So a solution the folks at LG created the dLite! Pretty cool right? It has this wild appeal that just seems pretty awesome! It sports a pink and white design. So this is more of the girly kind of phone.

Pros: There was really good voice quality and recption. The light effects were pretty awesome! The speakerphone was loud and clear.

Cons: The flip phone design isn’t for everyone; very old and kind of out datish style. There is a non-standard headphone jack that wasn’t very suitable.

It has this wild appeal that just seems pretty awesome! It sports a pink and white design. So this is more of the girly kind of phone. It’s got so many cool features to enjoy! We have a feeling that you will love this phone if you just can’t get over the flip phone era. We know that it was no secret that we enjoyed this little cutie. Sporting a buble gum pink with white accents or electric blue with white accents, you can see that this phone was made to stand out. It’s not something you should be ashamed of if you’re a big fan of flip phones. I’m sure you will enjoy this phone as much as we did. Okay well let’s get started!

Feeling lightweight and sturdy, this bubblegum pink phone comes weighing in at 3.49 oz. Don’t forget to check out your LG dLite Accessories! Underneath the bright surface we will find a customizable LED matrix which generally displays the time while also playing some nifty looking animations for various notifications. It also shows incoming caller ID and displays animated graphics during calls. Upon opening the wide screen we see that the 2.8 inch display has a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels. When opened, the phone is almost nine inches long—all the better to show off its hot pink or electric blue finish. We found that the keypad was pretty cool, it was spaced right and was deffinitely comfortable. On the left side, you’ll see that you’ve got a rather thin volume rocker – which actually happens to have an acceptable response when pressed. Besides the numbers and the circular, 4-way navigation button, there are also two soft keys closest to the screen, a key to open the Web browser and a key for the multi-tasking menu. On the right side of the phone you’ll find a camera key. There’s no auto focus on the LG dLite, so it’s just a simple button. Personally I would have found a texting button to be a cool choice on here but I guess that wasn’t important to LG. well folks at LG did provide some cheap headphones for you to use but I’m sure we’d all rather go and use our favorite pair of 3.5mm headphones. Unfortunally this phone is lacking in having a dedicated 3.5mm headset jack, instead you will have to rely using the microUSB port found on the right side to connect the included stereo headphones. In the back there’s a 2 megapixel camera. The camera was pretty cool. The photos turned out okay. They aren’t bad at all but they needed a lot of light to capture some really good ones. And as for the video recording, it recorded 320-by-240-pixel videos were dim but smooth at 15 frames per second. When removing the back you will find that you have access to the slot loading microSD card slot, battery, and SIM card slot.

T-Mobile’s Java-powered Social Buzz app is on board; it aggregates Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter updates and delivers them via home screen pop-ups. You can also hook into the major webmail portals, as well as AIM, Windows Live, and Yahoo Messenger IM accounts. When it came to loaded up our site, well it took a least a full two minutes to load and it drove me insane. But then again, this isn’t the find of phone would be using if you were really big on internet. As for calling, well.. honestly? It’s not the best but there’s no way it’s the worst. When we made calls, our callers told us that we sounded muffled with sharp tones. But on our end, we found the experience to be completely the opposite; the voices sounded good. There was a little fuzz, but nothing big to bother anyone. Signal strength was good, there were a few areas we found ourselves at the highest end and the lowest end of the bar range. Battery life was completely awesome! Call time? Well wait for it… SEVEN hours. A full seven hours than it died. The people at LG said the talk time to be 6.1, but maybe we just got lucky. The standby time is 312 hours.

First look at this baby, you’re thinking that it’s insane cute and those flamboyant colors got your head spinning! With eye popping specs, you can be sure to love the LG dLite. It’s the perfect girly phone, maybe for those who are just getting their first phones or for those people who want the flip phones to come back in style. Price you may be inquirring? Well this baby comes cheap, for only $49.99 on-contract you can have it all.
