Sony has always created great, popular gaming consuls that lead the industry and always do well for themselves. It now seems that Sony will try and expand their very successful and popular PlayStation video consul brand, into different venues of digital products. This could play extremely well for Sony, and the consumer making things more competitive in the industry. First up according to The Wall Street Journal, Sony is planning on taking the PlayStation brand and developing it a bit further than the PSP. There will be creating a mobile smartphone device that will be able to download and handle PlayStation games from their online services they now offer to gamers. No details have surfaced other than the plan has been put in place and is being developed. I can't wait to see personally what Operating System Sony choices to run on this ultimate gaming mobile phone of the Future. Next up and another trick up Sony's sleeve is said to be the all around everything in one type of device. It seems on this one Sony is taking a few pages out of Apple's book, and developing a gadget that combines functionality of a netbook, a kindle, and the PSP gaming device. They want to directly compete. [Via The Wall Street Journal]
