Pros :- The Samsung :) is just One of Three feature-phones released on the T-Mobile Network. The Smile is a compact slider-device which has a slide-down QWERTY keyboard aimed at Messaging and Browsing - as it also includes a full-HTML Browser. I really loved about the :) was that it has a nice sharp, bright screen

Cons :- The Samsung :)’s camera didn’t really do it for me. I didn’t enjoy the photos or their quality at all. There was no voice dialing on this phone which disappointed me very much. And the :), had a non-standard headphone jack. I’m really getting tired of these non-standard headphone jacks. They are irritable and just plain stupid.

The Samsung :) is a lightweight and compact slider phone. It’s look is pretty modern-age for the basic feature-phone design, and it includes a slide-down full QWERTY keyboard. Use of this phone doesn’t look to be very far past messaging and Social Networking alone, but then again, it is just a feature-phone. The device seems to be a bit too lightweight - as in the construction seems to lack that stability that we have come to look for in phones these days, so dropping the :) could lead to a big frown. All in all, this is your average, run-of-the-mill feature-phone produced by Samsung.

The Social Buzz Application was truly an advanced feature for such a ‘regular’ feature-phone such as the Samsung :). This feature was a JAVA applet which allows you to be consistently updated and signed into your social networking account such as Twitter, MySpace, and Facebook. Lag is not bad for how basic the phone appears. Picture quality is about as much as you would come to have expected from a 1.3-Megapixel camera, and video isn’t all too amazing either. Call quality is good, to say the least, and the phone is nicely compact with a small QWERTY keyboard, just big enough to make messaging easier.

Don’t be fooled by the feature-phone status of the Samsung :). Sure, this device is no Snapdragon-fueled piece of technology, but it definitely pokes it’s head out above the common-ground waters where many other feature-phones and dumbphones drown in. This device is quick where you need it to be, convenient to use, great to use if you’re a heavy messager, and the Social Buzz Java application is a great feature to use - one that is fully integrated into the use of the phone. If you’re not big on social networking, then the Samsung :) is definitely not for you. This device also features full-HTML browsing along with a 1.3-Megapixel camera which also captures video, but don’t expect any high-resolution shots to be taken here. All in all, if you’re into Social Networking and messaging, and that is about it, then the Samsung :) may just be perfect for your use.

You need to have the data service to completely use the Social Buzz section and the IMs.
