A plethora of reports have recently flooded the internets that Microsoft will be unveiling the user interface of Windows Mobile 7 sometime during Mobile World Congress this month. Within the last 48 hours a new offset of rumors have hit the airwaves, going into detail what the launch will and will not contain. The trusty PPCGeek forum has been home to some “truly amazing information” concerning what will be called Windows Phone 7. Makes sense, Windows Phone plus Windows 7? The UI will contain an almost exact replica of a Zune HD’s interface (under the codename METRO). Some even go as far as to say the interface as “very clean,” “alive,” and “soulful.” Other information suggests that there will be no multi-tasking in the OS, but instead pausing applications with push notifications. Flash is also not included from what we hear. A few cool things that Microsoft supposedly included were, Xbox Live gaming synchronization: Access to all your gamer tags, avatars, and achievements. Zune player integration, applications, and social networking support. The one thing Microsoft will not be introducing is a hardware device. The announcement will only contain information based upon the user interface. The source also suggests that Microsoft is working with handset makers for a device launch in September.
