Regarding cell phone news today, there are reports that are circulating blogs, and surfacing around the globe, that Google is developing a mobile service that will deliver the ability to translate speech from one language to another, right on the go. Google is trying to build off the text to text translation engine, which currently can translate text in 52 different languages. Google commented, " We think speech-to-speech translation should be possible and work reasonably well in a few years' time," said the chief of translation service. There are however a lot of skeptics in the industry and who are experts in the field, about the proposed timetable. One of the popular skeptic named David Crystalk is a professor of Linguistics at Bangor University says, "Maybe Google will be able to get there faster than everyone else, but i Think its unlikely we will have a speech device in the next few years that could handle high speed Glaswegian slang. " There is no question that this goal set by Google is aggressive, but great companies dream big, and do big things, and that's how you become an iconic business just like Google. [Via
