Google wants to capture some well-deserved attention of its own apparently. Branching off from a traditional CES press unveiling, Google has announced an event will be held on 5th of January in Mountain View, California. The letter reads:

With the launch of the first Android-powered device just over a year ago, we've seen how a powerful, open platform can spur mobile product innovation. And this is just the beginning of what's possible. Please join us in Mountain View on January 5, for an Android press gathering.

With the amount of chatter going on about the nexus one, it will most likely be the announcement of the said device. Though as it stands right now most of our Cell Phone Trek crew will be on our way to the wonderful state of Nevada. Read.
