Mignon Clyburn, a member of the FCC, recently sent out a letter in regards to Verizon's earlier response to questions concerning their outlandish $350 early termination fee on "advanced devices". It doesn't seem that controversy over Verizon's ETF has seen the last of its days. Clyburn described Verizon's reply as "unsatisfying and, in some cases, troubling", mentioning the already high contract prices and how public interest isn't properly served when the ETF is employed. Also brought to the table was Verizon's claim to not charge customers who accidentally press the web button on their phone without a suitable plan, declaring,"press reports and consumer complaints strongly suggest otherwise." Clyburn "look[s] forward to exploring this issue in greater depth with her colleagues in the New Year." Uh-oh. Good luck Big Red. Read.
