Defects Arise in Palm Pre

Forums and mobile blogs are hyped with comments from certain Palm Pre customers who squandered $199 in June for the phone only to watch it crumble and fail to meet expectations. The most common problems are cracked screens, gaps where the two sides of the phone should connect, and problems with the phone’s sliding hinge. Some relentless people who have a penchant for the Pre have returned units twice, hoping the third one will withstand. "My feeling at this point is that it's pretty clear that there is something – either a bad run or something wrong with the design," said Dieter Bohn, editor of PreCentral.net. PreCentral.net is the largest online community of Pre owners, so this concerned addressed should be taken with a high-degree of credibility. There’s something sincerely wrong.
