Adobe Systems and chip designer ARM holdings are joining forces in an effort to improve Web services for ARM enabled devices. Adobe plans to improve and optimize its Flash Player 10 and Adobe AIR for cell phones with ARM processors. With the growth in popularity of today’s Smartphones, mobile internet browsing, and multi media are integral to the mobile, online experience but are lacking in performance. Adobe and ARM are attempting to bridge the part of the gap between desktop and mobile computing. Nokia, Samsung, Apple and Research in Motion all have core processors designed by the UK based ARM. ARM based processors for cell phones and other mobile devices adapted specifically for Adobe’s Flash 10 and AIR are aimed to be available mid to late next year.
