By Tommy Rebik

As you may have heard Samsung has created a Tablet device based upon the Android Mobile OS. On September 2nd at IFA2010 Berlin, Samsung plans to release further information concerning the “Galaxy Tab”.  Fortunately for us at CellPhoneTrek, we’ve received an anonymous tip giving us some of the skinny on the new Samsung Galaxy Tab. Some of the features you might already be aware of, however the information here is believed to be exact specifications is; the device will sport a 7-inch touch screen that can support up to 16 million colors. The screen in particular will be resistant against Smudges, Scratches, and Glare Reflections. The tablet is also to contain both cameras on the back and front of the device. The rear facing camera is to be that of 3 megapixels, with the Forward Facing Camera at 1.3 megapixels— the same front facing camera currently featured on the HTC EVO 4G. The forward facing camera will have the ability to video chat, using Wi-Fi presumably as no network details have disclosed to us. The Operating System will be Froyo giving it the ability to run Flash for an even better Web browsing experience. Running that Froyo build will be a 1.2 GHz Cortex ARM 8 processor living off an assumingly built in 4,000 M.a.h. battery. These numbers give the Galaxy Tab an assumed 8 hours of movie viewing time. Also the device will support Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, expandable Micro SD card memory up to 32GB, and will be DLNA media sharing enabled. Now the more interesting part was when and where the device is going to be launched. The Galaxy Tab is to be officially announced Sept. 2nd but current launch data puts it in stores on October 1st. The Galaxy Tab is going to be carried by BESTBUY and COMCAST with an estimated price ticket of $440-$469. Stay tuned for more Galaxy Tab news.
