BlackBerry has created an instant messaging application only for BlackBerry smart phone owners. The application comes in a chat style layout with unlimited characters. BlackBerry says that this instant messaging will make it easier to get in contact with people. At first this all sounds good, however the application only works for people with a BlackBerry of their own. If  you have a friend that has a different cell phone it will not work with them; and when you think about it, how many of your friends and family have a BlackBerry cell phone. If BlackBerry were to create any kind of instant messaging application, they should have created an interface that would allow you to connect with friends and family in more then one place such as Twitter, FaceBook, and BlackBerry Messenger you could say. With all the social networks available one application that connects to all will help in connecting with someone important in a short amount of time.
