Apple Gets Patent for New Hybrid DisplayPort/USB 3.0

It’s time to get techie! According to a new update, Apple has just been granted a new patent for an even better 30-pin dock connector. Apple has been using the interface on its devices such as the iPhone, iPad and the iPod. And best thing about it is its slightly thin design without affecting its capability to send data over USB 2.0 and 3.0. The new patent is also said to contain a dual-lane display port channel which could be the standard soon on Apple’s incoming devices, computers, laptops and mobile devices. Now the dream of using HDMI without using an adapter might finally turn out to be a reality. Source
