Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray revealed an NPD Group data last Tuesday showing Apple shipments in the U.S. this January. The data showed that Mac sales were going up by 20% this year in January with computer shipments reaching over 3.6 million units. But as good as Apple’s sales on its computers are, the data unfortunately revealed that iPod sales were going down at 10% compared to its previous record last year. This is probably due to the fact that smartphones are getting smarter nowadays and are apparently functioning more than just what they are expected to do. But on the good side of things, Apple is expected to release a new MacBook Pro line soon and computer sales should continue to climb. Way the go Apple! Source
