Apple Applies for “Places” Trademark in Europe and China - 2/26/2011 3:27 So what’s new in Apple Town? Well, things are going pretty well as Apple recently filed for a new trademark on the name with the word “places”. We are not sure what Apple is up, but it does sound like social networking to us. The trademark was actually addressed to Europe and Chine arousing more speculations about the update. Apple filed the request last February 23 covering international classes 009, 041, 042 and 045. And just as we might have expected it, the first three classes covered areas on computer services - both hardware and software while surprisingly; the fourth class (045) is specifically pertaining to social networking services. Hmmm, we don’t want to spoil the news boys and girls, but Apple is really into something. You can probably remember that Apple has already started the ball rolling with its Ping music discovery service which kinda hints a little dose of social networking. Source Featured Cell Phone News
