App Inventor Will be Reincarnated
By Jerry Carrion

After a couple of try outs I can say with a firm that I am not a developer. I did my best to create at least something but my attempts were futile. But despite all the failures I was still interested in creating at least something and, luckily, I found App Inventor. This service minimizes the process of app creation to logical minimum and gives you a chance to make your ideas real even if you are not a developer. Unfortunately, I’ve heard the news that Google plans to shut this service down. But I want you to know one thing – there is always a way out no matter how hard the situation is. MIT gathered all the broken pieces of this service and is now in charge of App Inventor service. Moreover, MIT and Google have released the full source-code for the service, and folks at MIT's Center for Mobile Learning have said that the public release of the re-vamped service is on track for an April release. Here’s a word from the officials: “So far (knock on wood) our development effort is on track for releasing the MIT Public App Inventor Service in the first quarter of this year. While unexpected issues can always arise, we're guardedly optimistic that people who plan to run App Inventor courses or workshops can anticipate being able to use the MIT service by mid-April.”
